Reports are the local strawberry crop will be ready in time for the annual Strawberry Stroll on May 28th. New to this year’s event is a 5K race, organized by RTS Packaging, a division of RockTenn, one of Norcross’ Fortune 500 companies. 100% of the proceeds from this run will benefit the local charity, Kingdom Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children's wishes come true. The race begins at 10am in Thrasher Park.

After the 10a.m. race, the edible fun begins in Downtown Historic Norcross with fresh strawberries for sale by a local farmer who uses natural methods to produce an unbelievably sweet berry. Plus, there will be strawberry treats in the shops and restaurants, and live music – come have lunch, and if you have kids, bring them to the Thrasher Park playground or the splash fountain in Lillian Webb Park. It's a fun way to spend a Memorial Day Saturday.
